The list of updates for the D4 / D6 is long and includes a new engine management system, a new fuel injection system, a new turbocharger, and a new supercharger. The cylinder head, pistons and valves are new to cope with the increased performance, and other engine components have also been strengthened to handle the increased power output. The changes are more than a facelift, with most of the components redesigned.

The D4 and D6 offer performance outputs of between 150 and 480 hp. At the top spec, the D4 now has a maximum output of 320 hp, while the D6 boasts 480 hp. These engines not only offer up to 10% more power across the range, but they also cost less maintenance, with longer service intervals and fewer service items.
